Educational requirement

  • The candidates must have a bachelor’s degree to apply for the job. The graduation can be in any degree – however, it must be from a recognized institute.
  • Your minimum speed of 80 words per minute in shorthand and 40 words / minute in typewriting.
  • Knowledge of computer application.

Syllabus of exam for steno post

  • An Essay in English – 20 marks
  • Translation of passage from Odia to English – 20 marks
  • Re-translation of passage from English to Odia – 20 marks
  • Knowledge in English Grammar – 40 marks
  • Duration of exam 90minutes
  • Computer Application test – theory of 50 marks (30 min)
  • Skill test – theory of 50 marks (30 min)

Document required to apply for the steno job for Odisha High court

  1. HSC or equivalent certificate in support of age.
  2. Certificate of Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university or such other qualification equivalent thereto.
  3. Certificate showing adequate knowledge in Computer Application.
  4. Certificate from a recognised institute showing a minimum speed of 80 words per minute in shorthand and 40 words per minute in typewriting.
  5. Certificate of good character from two persons of repute (one of whom must be a Gazetted Officer).
  6. Recent passport size photograph.
  7. The photograph must be clearly visible with proper orientation.
  8. Full signature of the candidate.
  9. The signature must be clearly visible with proper orientation and in white background.
  10. Adhaar card.
  11. Certificate from the competent authority indicating the category of the caste or the tribe or the class of the applicant, in case he or she belongs to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe or SEBC and claims reservation under such category.
  12. Discharge Certificate and Affidavit (in case of Ex-Servicemen).
  13. Medical Certificate or Disability Certificate (in case of PwD).
  14. No Objection Certificate in case of government servant in case of non-availability of NOC submit an undertaking as mentioned under 8 (C).
  15. Copy of publication of the change of name/surname in local daily newspaper as well as copy of notification in the Odisha Gazette in support of his/her change/alteration/modification of name/surname.
  16. Candidates are required to take a printout of the submitted online application form for future use.
